What makes the distinction from celebrity and normal everyday person? Seriously, why should celebrities face stricter penalties? The only response that makes an inkling of sense is because it impacts other people and influences their decisions, but this is a terrible argument. Well, my favorite actor decided to kill someone, so I’m going to too. If I’m going to kill someone I’m not going to do it because someone I admire did it. I’m going to do it because I want to kill someone. Even if there was strong evidence that some crime influenced people to do criminal actions, it would be immoral to punish someone more because of it. If a celebrity kills someone and an average person kills someone, they have done equally terrible things. Just because the ramifications of the celebrities actions indirectly impact other people more doesn’t mean the celebrity did something worse.

Its not that they should face stricter penalties then everyone else its that they should receive stricter penalties then what they receive now, because some celebrities are arrested for drug possession and being under the influence and end up with almost no time in prison or jail compared to a “normal” person who would receive years for the same charge

First of all, why are they an example only to children? What about adults?
Anyway, that logic is flawed. Say you had Bob and George. Bob is a celebrity and George is a random guy. They both kill someone. Did Bob do anything worse than George? Should he be punished more than George? Just because the damage done by Bob may be more extensive than George because he is more well known doesn’t mean he should be prosecuted with more intensity. His intent was no different than George’s.
Furthermore, I reject the notion that children, such as me, base actions off of what random celebrities do. For example, if some celebrity kills someone, I don’t decide I should kill someone because that’s the cool thing to do, and even if that did occur, that’s the kid’s fault, not the celebrity.

I undestand that they are different but the celebrity gets away with a lot of things. Such as drugs and abuse. etc. But they get a warning like a 4 year old. They don’t need to be set off with a warning. My opinion.
